We may still be stuck in winter weather in upstate NY, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make sure our closets – and feet – are ready for spring! I’ve recently had a lot of people asking me for their advice on the perfect nude pump, so I thought I would do some research and share my favorites with you. I ended up finding quite a few that I loved, but I wanted to share them all. The prices range from $29.80 (no, this is not a typo) to $845 (I just had to include one item I’ve been lusting over recently).
I picked up a pair of nude pumps from TJ Maxx over the weekend, they are BCBG and I have already started to break them in! They are very comfortable, but I’m only 5’2″ so I do wish the heel was a bit higher. Luckily they were only $40, so I won’t feel too guilty if I pick up another pair that meets my heel requirement.
When it comes to spring, material definitely does matter. I’m really into leather materials on nude shoes for the spring, whether it be a pump or a sandal. Side note: I only posted pumps in this post, but I have been seeing some amazing sandals that I can’t wait to share! I used to really stay away from suede for warm weather months, but this year I’m really into suede for the spring (no guarantees for summer).
A great thing about nude pumps is they are so easy to transition from a day to night look! I love the idea of how easy it would be to just make a few simple accessory and make-up changes and just like that you’re ready to take on the night! I’ll be posting some day-to-night looks in the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned!
Here are some nude pumps that caught my eye:
It’s been so nice to have a spring preview here in upstate NY. We’ve had two days of beautiful weather, but more snow is on it’s way. I’m dreaming of springs arrival, but until then, it was nice to pretend for a few days!
I love this plaid top from Lovers & Friends so much! It’s the perfect dress up or dress down piece. I’m seriously wondering what I did before I bought this shirt! Since the weather was so nice out today I opted to drape my Zara coat over my shoulders instead of completely bundling up.
I picked up these BCBG nude pumps from TJ Maxx last week, I have been breaking them in a lot lately! Are you into nude pumps for the spring? I picked a few of my favorites in a blog post last week, you can check them out here.

Okay, so quick update… spring is not here. Like not even a little bit. It’s snowing again. I think it goes without saying that I’m ready for spring, but in order to be semi-practical I’ve just been opting for a shoe change (I’m a wanna-be commuter).
I have been eyeing these denim-on-denim looks a lot. I decided to try it out for this look, but I think I would probably change the jeans next time. In my defense, these are brand new J Brand jeans from TJ Maxx, so I since I saved a ton of money, I feel like I should be paying them a lot of respect and wearing them frequently.

It’s all about a pop of blue, baby! I just love how you can take add one amazing accessory and it just instantly makes your whole outfit!

I love that this outfit combines so many amazing basics into one look. I mean come on, a jean jacket? It doesn’t get more basic than that. But what’s amazing about a jean jacket is how versatile it can be. You can layer it in the winter or throw it over a dress in the summer! For this look, I opted to just lay it over my shoulders for a quick on-and-off approach.
Because I went with so many neutrals, I really wanted one statement piece, and this bag was just the thing I was looking for! I can’t say enough about this bag, it comes with a cross body strap too so it’s versatile, which is great for dressing up and down. Honestly the inside of this bag is HUGE! It’s awesome for work, errands, school, etc.
Ah! The major fashion debate – is it okay to wear white before Memorial Day? Obviously I’m all for it! Honestly think it’s 2014 and there are just no more rules anymore! Black and brown, pink and red, white all year round – bring it on!

I am all about mixing neutrals together, but for some reason when I looked in the mirror, I felt a bit like a cardboard box. This clutch was the perfect addition to give a little POP to my outfit.
White jeans are just one of my favorite things in the world. However, you really have to take the time to make sure that they fit right because white jeans can also add weight to you very easily. If you live near a department store I highly recommend setting aside some time (preferably during a sale) and just trying on as many pairs as possible until you find the perfect one! I picked up these Joe’s during a 25% off sale, but it took me a solid hour of trying on different pairs until I found them. Happy hunting to all!
Printed pants are such a refreshing take on an everyday look. So often we reach for jeans, shorts, a skirt… a “safety piece” that can sometimes leave us looking the same even if we are changing our pieces. Printed pants are such an easy (and affordable) way to refresh your style and keep people guessing!

Printed pants are NOT an item I would recommend making a big investment in for just one pair. You can find so many pairs on affordable stores like Forever 21 or H&M. You can’t wear the the same pair of printed pants too many times (without being noticed), so buy a few pairs for less than $20 and work them into your wardrobe! You can mix and match printed pants in so many ways, they are great for dressing up and dressing down.
The most important thing, is to have fun with printed pants! As I mentioned, you can dress them up or down so be unexpected and wear them to the office, for drinks after, or for a night out on the town!
Trying different styles is so fun! It’s important to do your best to mix up your look when you can to avoid getting into a style rut.
Although red, black, and white makes a pretty regular rotation in my wardrobe, I mixed it up by adding a pair of booties to give this look an overall rocker vibe. This look is perfect for a night out on the town! If you want to make this look more daytime appropriate, try adding a pair of Converse sneakers or flats!
Fall weather is upstate New York is nothing if not unpredictable. Last week, when I shot this look, I was fa-reezing! But this week, it’s in the 70s (and 80s this weekend)! It’s important to layer in the fall for when this happens.

I love this combination of colors for fall, yes, it’s white pants (which you may get some questions about), but it’s an overall 100% fall themed look. When putting together a white denim look for fall, first you’ll want to definitely go for it, and second, you’ll just want to make sure that your look is in season. Pairing a bright colored top with white jeans for the fall or winter is what makes white pants look out of season, but if you pair your white jeans with earth tones or black you’re safe!
The name of this post is pretty ironic… because I love ponchos. Probably because wearing a poncho limits the number of things I can with my arms, which I really have no problem with (haha… laziness in full force?? #IThinkSo)! I found this scarf on Zara and I love it because I can wear it in more ways than one. I found that draping it over my shoulders gave my outfit more of a chic vibe, but tying it like a scarf would be great for a more casual look.
I love this look because it’s an unexpected combination. I like to keep some elements a surprise, so putting together a bunch of different pieces is always exciting. It’s also an easy way to mix up your look, you can easily mix-and-match pieces without being as noticeable.
Throwing a scarf over your shoulders is also an easy way to stay warm in the fall!
